Hello, I am Shane Ogden, Superintendent of Park County School District Number 16 in Meeteetse. It is a true honor to serve this incredible community and to work alongside a team of educators who believe that learning is not something that happens to students but something that happens with them. I have always believed that schools should be places where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are shared, and learning feels alive.

Before coming to Meeteetse, I had the opportunity to work in larger schools and districts across Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho. Those experiences taught me the importance of relationships, teamwork, and staying focused on what matters most, our students. They also helped me see that even in the smallest of schools, innovation can thrive when people care deeply about the success of every learner. I am proud to bring those lessons to our district, where we combine big-picture thinking with the close connections only a small community can offer.

I am currently pursuing my Educational Doctorate through the University of Wyoming, with a focus on leadership that empowers both students and staff. I believe that strong schools are built when everyone has a voice and a purpose. That belief shapes how we lead, how we teach, and how we learn together.

At Meeteetse School, we embrace Project Based Learning as a way to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Our students design, build, question, and create. They learn to think critically, work collaboratively, and take pride in what they accomplish. Whether they are building lanterns that symbolize leadership, collaborating with community partners, or presenting their ideas on national stages, our students show that learning can truly happen anywhere.

Our size allows us to personalize education for every student. We know our learners by name, by story, and by potential. Teachers and students work side by side to set goals, explore interests, and celebrate growth. Families and community members play an essential role in this process, creating a network of support that helps every child shine a little brighter.

I am deeply proud of our district; of our students who rise to challenges with creativity and resilience, of our staff who give their best each day, and of a community that stands firmly behind its school. Meeteetse may be small in size, but our vision for learning is as big as the Wyoming sky. Together, we are lighting the way for what education can be.
