Enrollment

Welcome Longhorns! We are excited to have you join the Meeteetse School community. Use the links below to begin the enrollment process for your student. Our team is here to help and looks forward to welcoming your family!

  • Students must be enrolled by a legal parent or guardian who is authorized to make educational decisions on their behalf. If a student’s parents are separated or divorced, please provide current contact information for both parents so the school can maintain accurate records and communicate important information. Any court orders or legal documents that affect custody, educational decision-making, or access to student information should also be provided during enrollment.

  • To complete enrollment, families will need to provide a copy of the student’s birth certificate, current immunization records, and verification of the enrolling parent or guardian’s identity. Our school will request records directly from the student’s former school, including information about any special services the student receives, such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 Plan. If there is a current court order related to custody, parental rights, or access to the student, a copy of that order must also be provided during enrollment.

  • Who can enroll a student?

A student must be enrolled by a legal parent or guardian who is authorized to make educational decisions for the student.

Do returning students need to enroll again?
Returning students do not need to complete all of the paperwork.  See the section below for Returning Longhorns

How do I enroll a new student?

Use the new student enrollment link below and complete all required forms. Enrollment is not complete until the school has received the necessary information and documents.

What happens if parents are separated or divorced?
Please provide current contact information for both parents. The school will follow any current court orders related to custody, educational decision-making, communication, or access to student records.

Will I need to obtain records from my student’s former school?
No. Meeteetse Schools will request the student’s records directly from the former school. This request will include academic records and information about special services, including any current IEP or Section 504 Plan.

Can I begin enrollment if I do not have every document?
Yes. Please begin the enrollment process and contact the school if you are missing a required document. Our staff will help you understand what is still needed to complete enrollment.

Can students who live outside the district enroll?
Families who live outside Park County School District #16 should contact the school to discuss enrollment and any applicable transfer requirements. Approval may depend on district policy, available space, and the student’s individual circumstances.

    Is there an enrollment deadline?
Families are encouraged to enroll as early as possible so the school has time to review records, arrange services, and prepare for the student’s first day.  Enrollment is accepted anytime.

What happens after I submit the enrollment paperwork?
School staff will review the information and contact you if anything else is needed. Once enrollment is complete, we will provide information about your student’s schedule, transportation, school supplies, and first day.

Who should I contact if I need help?
Please contact the school office (307 868-2501) with any questions about forms, documents, residency, transfers, or the enrollment process. We are happy to help your family successfully complete enrollment and become part of the Longhorn community.
